CYNTHIA HOUSE OF BEAUTY

For five months I worked alongside Cynthia, the owner and CEO of Cynthia House of Beauty during the season of custom prom dresses.

I was an assistant fashion designer, seamstress, and illustrator. This experience was very hands on and it involved growing my skills in craftsmanship, clientele and management. I worked with new fabrics, new techniques and it showed me the side of special occasion wear and customization of the fashion industry. As well as being independently owned, I was able to have insight on the business and marketing aspects of the company.

AT Cynthia house of beauty I...

  • Worked alongside CEO with custom handmade prom dresses for the duration of 5 months, completing a total of over 60 dresses.

  • Assisted in design decisions and digitally illustrated sketches taken from inspiration of references and curated a unique design for clients.

  • Helped in fittings with clients and managed communication with each client about certain design ideas and customization choices.

  • Machine sewed over 20 custom dresses as well as hand sewing appliqués on intricate fabrics.

  • Applied details such as stones, jewels and even had creative liberty to enhance the design with other appliqués.

  • Managed time and met deadlines for each dress to be picked up in time for event.
